Early Christianity Assignment 5

Christian spirituality refers to the beliefs, practices, and experiences that contribute to one's personal relationship with God within the framework of the Christian faith. It encompasses a wide range of practices, including prayer, Bible study, worship, community engagement, and acts of compassion and service. At its core, Christian spirituality is rooted in the belief that individuals are spiritual beings created in the image of God and called to live in communion with Him. It emphasizes the importance of seeking a deep and intimate relationship with God, striving to align one's thoughts, actions, and desires with His teachings. Spirituality is when your soul is connected to a certain type of realm. There’s the Earth realm where most souls are connected to our bodies making us whole. The other type of realm is the spirit realm in which souls go to rest. Some people believe that when we die there is no place for our souls to rest and we just die out. Many religions believe there is some afterlife and souls and bodies are sent to heaven or hell. There is no right or wrong answer to this because many of us haven’t experienced it yet. In Matthew 5 it talks about how the Beatitudes are portrayed and that many people followed them during that time. Even today many people follow these beatitudes because it’s Jesus’s calling. Also during that time, many people followed the 10 commandments. These commandments had more rules to them like the Beatitudes and even today many Christians follow all of these to get a true understanding of Jesus’s work. Many followers of Jesus also used prayer in his footsteps to get closer to him.
